Instrumentation pipe fittings
There are two different types of Hikelok instrumentation pipe fittings, one is the form of parallel threads and the other is the form of taper threads.
The types of parallel threads include G thread, SAE thread and metric thread. When installing and using parallel threads, it is necessary to rely on the cooperation of auxiliary seals, such as gaskets and O-rings, to complete reliable sealing.
The types of taper threads include NPT thread and R (BSPT) thread. When they are installed, they only need to wrap an appropriate PTFE tape on the male thread to effectively prevent fluid leakage, and tighten it with the female thread pipe fitting to achieve excellent sealing effect.
The sealing types of parallel threads include BS sealing, BP sealing, BG sealing and PPT sealing.
BS sealing is sealed with BS gasket. BS gasket is a kind of composite gasket, including metal part and non-metal part. After the pipe fitting is screwed and compressed, it is closely bonded with the non-metal part to achieve sealing.
BP sealing is sealed with BP gasket. BP gasket is usually made of red copper, which can be sleeved into the bottom of male thread, and can be sealed by tightening between fittings.
BG sealing is sealed with BG gasket, which is similar to BP gasket, but it is put into the bottom plane of female thread, and then the fittings are screwed and compressed with each other.
PPT sealing is a kind of sealing form with adjustable position. Assisted by O-ring, it can play an ideal sealing effect.
